1) It is open to everyone, provided they have no yet reached their 3 starter limit.
2) This auction is run almost exactly the same as an art auction, the only difference is that YOU design the character and their genetics.
3) Gender, type, personality etc. are up to you
4) HERE'S THE CATCH: All characters must be used on the Western Isles, it MUST be a purebred Windborne or Oakfern and used in these herds.
5) Send all bids in a note to the group. Bids in comments will be IGNORED.
6) There are 10 winning slots up for grabs.
Tips on how to win
- Follow the above rules
- Include concise detail
- Don't try and do something completely different to any of the designs you've seen previously. Seriously, if its absent its probably absent for a reason.

Welcome to Eagle Creek! We're located in the heart of the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts. Spring has finally come to New England and the owner of Eagle Creek, Erica Hansen, has decided to hold a big halter show to celebrate.
Setting
There's an old saying here: If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes. The show will be held in one of our outdoor arenas, except in cases of extreme downpour (or snow -- it could happen!), then we'll move things inside. The design is up to you, but we have a lot of trees! Our farm dogs, Bullet (a German Shepherd) and Kanorlan (a Border Collie), like to roam the grounds, so you might see them sitting outside the ring, watching. Don't worry! They won't bite!

Nordanner Breeding Easter Egg Hunt!Welcome to my nordanner breeding Easter egg hunt!
How this works-
Throughout my gallery I have hidden 11 Easter eggs among the artist's info section of my deviations!
You click the thumb that takes you to the egg, because they're in my stash, you need to post the title of the deviation the egg was hidden in.
Each egg is a breeding to one of my nordanners, but don't be fooled, the egg color might not always match the coat of the horse the breeding is to ;P
Each person can claim ONE egg.
There will be NO EGGS in my Photography OR Dave a Stray folders, that would be madness. However, there might be an egg in any other folders on any other deviations.
Edit: There are THREE eggs left as of 7 am EST.

Competition Rules:
-Entries must be full body with a background
:new:-Photo Backgrounds or no backgrounds will receive a penalty of 5 points
:new:-Tack must be correct for the discipline. A penalty of 5 points will be taken for incorrect tack
:new:-Rider's clothing must be correct for the discipline. A Penalty of 5 points will be taken for mistakes
-Stories are not required, but you will receive +3 bonus points for writing one. (Only counts for stories 200 words or more in length)
-Tracing IS allowed, however you must still make the image look nice and must credit and link to the image you traced.
-Shading is not required but doing so will gain you +5 bonus points
:new:-Training images add +3 points to your score (max of three training images for the entire show)

Tack's Book of TipsThis is kind of like a FAQ but not really. Different people have asked me the same questions about, for example, how to share realistically, how to figure out lighting, how to get a certain look/style, how to handle annoying commenters, etc.
So this is going to have information about how I create my art and even a few tips on how to survive handle being  a part of the RPG stable world.
It's all from my own point of view, it is not the 100% definite way of going about things. I am not perfect, I have a lot to learn. I'm just sharing with you all what I've learned so far.
This isn't really a place open to serious discussion/debate. If you don't agree with some points, that is fine. But as I said these are just some things I've learned and experienced.

There are no set classes for this show. Simply draw your horse(s) competing in any class you desire be it hunter under saddle, barrel racing, or halter. Horses will be grouped in to two group, one for color and/or pattern, and one for discipline. A color will be recognized with it's own class once there are three entries of that color. The same goes for the disciplines. I will list them out as I receive entries. This show will be judge on both effort and creativity. So by all means let you horses have fun

Teal rose stables New years comp winners!

To celebrate the release of the #Valorteen 's i am hosing a new years competition!
You must draw your horse, what ever breed it may be, with a Christmas or new years theme! Brownie points for including Other people horses too since it is the season of giving and all that :)

The rules are very simple:
1. Entries must be completed and submitted by the 15th January
2. Head shot or full body will be accepted. this will be judged on effort so a detailed head shot would win over a 5-minute full body.
3. we will judge the effort against your own gallery so that everyone has a chance.
4. Any breed can enter,not only valorteens


And now for the important part, the prizes!

First place:
- full body, full background training image of a horse of your choice
- A breeding slot to any of my horses  (  1 nordanner, 2valorteens)
- detailed profile drawing by ~SecretValley
- one full body drawing from ~vulpesx

Second place:
- Full body, full background image of a horse of your choice
